Jamie D. Levy
FOUNDER & CHIEF VISIONARY STRATEGIST
Jamie D. Levy is the Founder and Chief Visionary Strategist of JDLevy & Associates, a founding partner of FiscAlign accounting and financial services, and the founder of Discover Philanthropy, a values-based learning platform for emerging nonprofit leaders. A nationally recognized consultant and international thought leader in the nonprofit sector, Jamie has advised hundreds of organizations across the U.S. and globally on strategy, systems, governance, and sustainability.
Jamie is also a longtime faculty member at Indiana University, where he teaches in the graduate and professional programs in not-for-profit management and development through the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, the IU Lilly School of Philanthropy, and The Fund Raising School. Since 1998, he has trained over 50,000 professionals from more than 30 countries through his teaching and consulting. In recognition of his impact, he was named Graduate Professor of the Year in 2010 and recognized as a distinguished alum and appointed to the Indiana University O'Neil School of Public and Environmental Affairs Distinguished Alumni Council, a significant honor granted to only a select few.
Jamie is a published author, writer, and speaker, widely known for his expertise in nonprofit organizational development and social impact. He is an officially designated nonprofit industry field expert with the U.S. Department of Labor and was appointed to the Indiana University O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs Distinguished Alumni Council and Alumni Board. He currently serves on the product design and industry thought leadership team at Bloomerang, a leading nonprofit CRM and fundraising technology platform.
Technical Experience
Executive Management & Development
Jamie currently serves as President of JDLevy & Associates, where he leads executive development, strategic planning, and organizational capacity building for nonprofits nationwide. Previously, he served as Director of Development, Executive Vice President, and CEO of Prevent Blindness Indiana, where he led a full institutional turnaround, designing new systems, infrastructures, and service delivery models for this 52-year-old statewide organization.
Consulting
Jamie has worked extensively as a management consultant both through his firm and previously with George S. Olive and Company, where he helped build the nonprofit consulting division. His work resulted in new service offerings, expanded client reach, and revenue growth. He has provided organizational development, strategic planning, and executive coaching for nonprofits across the U.S. and internationally. He also served as a donor management software evaluator for John Wiley & Sons Publishing.
Legislative & Governance
Jamie’s public policy experience includes serving with two Indiana trade associations as a legislative/governance analyst and assistant lobbyist. While in this role, he authored a governance manual that has been adopted by nonprofit boards nationwide. His work continues to shape board policy, development, and effectiveness. Over the course of his career, he has been invited to advise U.S. senators and presidential cabinet members on nonprofit sector issues and social innovation strategies.
Teaching & Academic Roles
Jamie has taught in Indiana University’s MPA and MBA programs and regularly leads professional training sessions for The Fund Raising School. He has instructed graduate-level courses in nonprofit management, fundraising, governance, and leadership across multiple IU schools. He continues to mentor emerging nonprofit leaders and teach seminars across sectors.
